Dr. Nicole White, Hampus Hillerstrom, LuMind IDSC and a team of experts, recently published an article in the Journal of Applied Research in Intellectual Disabilities, that delves into the intricacies of Down syndrome inclusion in research. In a survey of 228 parents and caregivers, researchers explored the subjects’ understanding of the current state of research, participation, barriers, and areas of concern where they would hope to see improvement and inclusion of the Down syndrome community.
The survey results also call attention to the treatments and therapies most important to the participants, and their ranking of importance according to them.
